Pleasing Products – Chapter I

I have battled with my skin for as long as I can remember, going from acne to extremely sensitive and back to combination. As I type, we might have hit a sweet spot (not to jinx it) as my skin appears to have settled somewhat. This, in part, is down to some of these products that I have decided to rave about in the hope that they might also help you out of an inflamed, blemish-prone yet sensitive and unhinged skin hole. I have also included my perfume that I have worn for yeeeears now because it deserves a moment in the limelight, as well as a couple of other products that make my life easier when I require some help in the hair and makeup department.

Pestle & Mortar Erase and Double Sided Face Cloths

This combination has turned my evening skincare routine into my favourite time of the day. For 3 minutes I feel like I’ve escaped to a spa with the glorious smell from Erase and the warm muslin cloth against my skin. Perfect, perfect, perfect!

La Roche Posay Effaclar Purifying Cleansing Gel

The lovely girl who served me when I was buying the Pestle & Mortar Erase also recommended following that with the La Roche Posay Effaclar foaming cleanser, which they didn’t stock so I knew it wasn’t a sales tactic, as she found it great for reducing acne scars. I was skeptical though because a foaming gel doesn’t appeal to me (I feel like it would be quite drying and harsh) but I absolutely love this brand so I decided to chance it. So far so good and we are a week into using it every evening after Erase. I use the cotton side of the Pestle & Mortar face cloths to wipe away this cleanser. My face is squeaky clean afterwards!

Paula’s Choice BHA Liquid Exfoliant

I’m sure this product needs no introduction! I use it twice a week in the evening and if I wasn’t prone to sensitivity I would definitely use it daily. The results are incredible- your face glows, your pores shrink, your makeup glides on! 10/10 and it also comes in a little travel size which is very handy. A little goes a long way!

Sarah Keary Liquid Blush – Peaches

Sarah Keary has two gorgeous liquid blushes, Peaches and Pink Moon, which are available to buy as a bundle should you wish to try. I wear both but I do prefer the shade Peaches. It gives the most sun-kissed appearance and really brightens the face. You know when you put on a product and it makes you look healthy? That’s exactly what you get here.

Davines Hair Refresher Dry Cleansing Mist

I received this Dry Cleansing Mist as a Christmas present and it is incredible! Apart from it being the nicest smelling hair product I have ever used, it is without a doubt the best dry shampoo in terms of soaking up the oil and literally cleaning your hair. I also notice my hair is silky soft when I use it which is a lovely little bonus. I couldn’t talk about Davines without a quick mention for this shampoo and conditioner. For the past few years these are my go-to. Also beautiful products, from a beautiful brand.

Escentric Molecules 01

If, like me, you feel nauseous around perfume then this is the one you need. The key is that you can’t smell it on yourself but it is the most stunning scent when you smell it on others. I’ve been wearing it for years and still get asked what I’m wearing. I always buy the little refill size but it does come in a larger option too. Escentric Molecules have a range of different scents but this is by far the most popular.
